OVERVIEW

We are in process of establishing a family reunion for 2021.  It is our goal to have most, if not all family members there.  Targeted dates are May 28-31, Memorial Day weekend.  We expect that some families may be on property the whole week, before or after the holiday.  The invitation is extended to all family and friends of the McLaughlin Clan.  We plan to include cousins, longtime family friends so feel free to share this opportunity and website with them.

We would like to establish at least one if not more formal events for the reunion attendees to participate in.  Some of these could include renting the ballroom on property to have a dinner, music (live or DJ), and dancing.  Golf outing - this could be a Ryder Cup format, scramble, etc.  We could charter the Lady Anderson for a dinner cruise.  Beach dinner party at point behind hotel.  Please share any ideas you have.  

We are working on getting some preferred rates from the hotel, but have also listed links to other options on this page.  We would encourage everyone to stay on property as being at a remote location likely will keep you somewhat disconnected.  It is important to note that each property on the resort is trying to control the traffic of non-guests and their access to the pools at each. 

The Sheraton Hotel has two pools for hotel guests.  Next door, Reflections has one pool, for guests only.  Marriott Vacation has one.  If we have a large number of people staying at the hotel, we think using the hotel pool will be easy for all. 

We will secure a block of rooms at a special rate at the hotel.  Once secured, we will have a window in which reservations will need to be confirmed by each.  The hotel and other properties likely will require a deposit to hold, especially since it is a holiday weekend.  It is our assumption that the hotel and others will have a wiggle clause in case of another health epidemic breaking out.  Universally to date nationally, most all hotels and airlines have been very good about refunding monies and/ or allowing travelers to change dates of travel.  It is our belief this policy will continue.

Airport: For those of you choosing to fly, there are a few choices.  The main airport to this area is Northwest Beaches Airport (ECP).  The main airlines flying to Panama City Beach are Southwest and Delta.  Allegiant Airlines flies into the Destin Airport, and the next closest would be Pensacola, FL.

COVID:  It is hard to know where things will be in a year, but presumably better.  The health and welfare of all is very important and we all need to take steps to promote that for all.  I am sure this is a concern for everyone and may be more serious of a concern personally for anyone that is older or has compromised health.  We ask that all be open to listening to everyone's concerns - everyone's voice matters.
